Delete your TRIBE account

TRIBE is operated by TRIBE TECHNOLOGIES SDN. BHD. (202601042422), Malaysia. You can delete your account yourself, in the app. These are the steps, and what happens to your data. Questions: [email protected].

How to delete your account

  • Open TRIBE and go to Profile → Settings → Delete account (businesses: Shop → Settings).
  • Read what happens, then confirm by typing your email address (or DELETE, if you signed in with a hidden Apple email).
  • You are signed out. For 14 days your account is only scheduled for deletion, and we email you a link to cancel if you change your mind. After that, the deletion runs overnight.
  • If you cannot open the app, email [email protected] from the address on your account. We may ask you to confirm it is you, and we respond within 21 days.

What is deleted

  • Your name, email address, phone number and sign-in details. With Sign in with Apple, we also revoke TRIBE's access to your Apple ID.
  • Your profile photo, approximate location, push token, searches that found nothing, stamps, vouchers, rankings, achievements, goals and list of visited places.
  • Your link to our usage statistics. You also leave any crew you joined.
  • Any City Credit you hold, because it has no cash value.

What we keep, and for how long

  • Transaction and reward records are kept for at least 7 years, for accounting and tax law. They are anonymised: no name, email address or phone number, only a deleted-account record.
  • A business's financial records (top-ups, settlements and withdrawals) are kept for at least 7 years, as the law requires. Its bank account details are deleted.
  • Places you supported keep their support count, but not your name. A public ranking entry shows "Anonymous Legend".
  • Our audit log records that an account was deleted, with no personal details.
